Today I wanted to write to you about happiness because it seems that far too many of us believe that happiness is something to be found “out there”…. a thing to be attained in the future…or that someone else should be responsible for our happiness.
The truth is though, happiness is not something that a single person or thing can ever give us.
Instead, it’s something we must choose to work towards every day.
Happiness isn’t a destination; it’s a journey. It’s about making decisions that are healthy for us and the life that we are building for ourselves.
It’s about recognizing that we have the power to shape our own happiness and understanding that no one else can, or should be, responsible for our happiness.
One of the keys I’ve found to attaining lasting happiness is making time for the things that bring us joy.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life, but it’s crucial to prioritize those activities and moments that genuinely make our hearts sing.
Whether it’s pursing a passion or hobby, spending time with loved ones, listening to our favorite music, spending time in nature, or maybe it’s finally putting pen to paper to finally write that book. These are the types of things that can infuse our lives with happiness on a consistent basis.
Equally important is learning to say goodbye to things and people that threaten our state of mind.
Sometimes, we hold onto toxic relationships, negative habits, news stories, or situations that only serve to bring us down.
It takes a lot of courage to let go of our unhealthy attachments to these things, but doing so can free you to pursue a happier, more fulfilling life.
At the end of the day, we have the power to change where our attention goes and what we choose to focus on in our lives.
I know that life can be challenging, and finding happiness can sometimes feel like an uphill battle.
But I do hope you’ll remember, happiness is a choice, and it’s worth the effort.
It’s not about a constant state of euphoria; it’s about finding contentment and joy in the small moments and the everyday choices we make.
Sending you lots of love and positive energy for a great rest of your week.
XOXO
Jenna
