In a previous Love Note, I mentioned that in order to say yes to self-love, sometime that means we need to say no to others.
But sometimes we have to say “no” to ourselves too.
Let me explain…
Far too often, we can be our own worst bosses, driving ourselves to work more hours than we should be, not unplugging during lunch, forgoing self-care due to unrelenting deadlines, not putting our foot down and prioritizing our own well-being.
Might you be guilty of this too sometimes?
Leaders, care-givers and partners who do a better job with self-love make better leaders, care givers and partners.
Remember that we need to be putting our own oxygen mask on before helping others.
When we’re in stressful situations, sometimes we forget to put the oxygen mask on.
Self-love helps prevent stress and burnout.
Self-love and self-care also help prevent us from feeling resentment toward others for not pouring back into us what we really need to be giving to ourselves.
So I hope you’ll remember to draw a line in the sand when it comes your well-being, and prioritize you…so you can be the best version of you for everyone else too.
With lot of love,
