Hope you’re doing awesome friend!

This week I’ve been contemplating the meaning of integrity, and how crucial this is for our self-love journey, not just in the big, life-changing moments, but in the everyday stuff too.

Our state of integrity deeply affects how we feel about ourselves.

According the the merriam webster dictionary, the definition of “integrity” is:

1) firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values
2) an unimpaired condition
3) the quality or state of being complete or undivided

Integrity is that secret sauce that makes you feel good about who you are when you’re by yourself, no Instagram filters, no audience.

It’s about making choices that you’re proud of, that line up with who you say you are and what you believe in, even when it’s super tempting to take the easy road.

Why am I going on about this? Because, I realized that this is the foundation of loving yourself.

For example, if honesty is important to you, then being in integrity with yourself means you need to be completely honest with others…even if you may have something to lose in the near term, such as money, a sale, relationships, etc.

The Immediate gratification you will have received via those near term gains would have cost you your state of being in integrity and completeness with yourself.

So. Not. Worth. It!

It’s about knowing that you’re staying true to your path, even when no one’s watching, and feeling darn good about it.

The truth is though, it’s not always easy in practice. Life throws curveballs, and there’s pressure everywhere to fit in, to bend our values for a quick win or to please someone else.

But every time we stay true to our core, we’re building this unshakeable trust in ourselves. It’s like building a fortress around your heart that says, “I got you, no matter what.”

I’m telling you this because I see you working hard on yourself, and I want to tell you that you are doing an amazing job!

And I can also tell you that living in unwavering integrity is going to make you feel even more amazing about yourself.

But, we all slip up from time-to-time as well. And when we do, it’s just as important to take note of it, imagine how we will handle it differently next time, and most-important…practice self-compassion and self-forgiveness.

It’s about being your own best friend, your own biggest cheerleader, and knowing that you’re living a life that’s 100% authentically yours.

The goal is be to admire yourself. Admire the good choices you consciously make, the effort you put into your work, the good friend that you are, the hard work you put in to get something you really wanted.

The goal is to strive to make yourself proud, because your opinion of yourself is the only opinion that really matters.

The goal is to love who you are and what you stand for.

You’ll find a love so much deeper than any you’ve ever known before.

So, here’s to making those choices that make us proud, to living a life full of integrity, and to loving ourselves fiercely because we deserve it.

You’ve so got this, and as always, I’ll right here cheering you on.
