Hi Friend,

Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your self-love journey!

Part of loving ourselves MORE includes asking for what we want, and knowing that we are worthy of receiving it.

When we build a committed relationship with ourselves, we prioritize ourselves and our needs, and don’t push what we want aside.

This can be in matters both big and small…from asking for a meeting with someone or a better price on that chair you want, to asking for a raise or promotion.

We can just assume that things won’t go the way we want them to, and stop ourselves from making the move to ask. Or we can believe in our worth and go for it!

So I was wondering, are you able to easily ask for what you want? Or do you experience uneasiness when it comes expressing your wants and needs?

When we don’t ask for what we want, this causes us to get the short end of the stick in so many different areas of our lives:

– the sandwich that wasn’t the one you wanted
– the job you didn’t apply for because you didn’t meet all the listed requirements
– the celebrity you dreamt of interviewing for your new podcast, but never reached out to
– the support from your friends, or a group, that you could really use but didn’t want to get vulnerable and ask

You matter. What you want and need matters.

As I always like to say, “you get 100% of what you don’t ask for”.

XOXO

Jenna

P.S. Not too long ago, I interviewed Caroline Ceniza-Levine, a executive career coach and adjunct professor at Columbia University, who teaches negotiation techniques, among other things. In this broadcast, she shares her 7-steps to being a successful negotiator. You can catch the episode here.

“Another great one! I’ve never heard of this concept before getting this Love Note. I was able to use what I learned today at work during an interaction with a colleaugue and it was a real game changer for me. Thank you for helping me love myself more!”
